This volume continues north from the wye at Week's Mills starting at Newell's Crossing and flag station. As of this writing, no photos have surfaced of Newell's, but an ICC map and footprint provide some details. From Newell's, the railroad heads to the town of Palermo, originally called Branch Mills. The town was located a mile or so east of the railroad station. Palermo was without question one of the busiest places on the railroad, with three potato houses, a storehouse, a gravel pit and several mills nearby. Many carloads of goods certainly came through Palermo on any given day. Palermo was also located on the major east/west road between Augusta and Belfast.
