Yet this he did with a relatively small group of Chinese workers and equipment and rolling stock from half a world away. It stuttered on for several more years until 1899 at which time it became a sugar plantation entity under the name of the Hawaii Railway Company, and later still, in 1937, Mahukona Terminals Limited. Never again did it have the flavor and zest of the originality imparted to it by the Hon. Saml. G.
