The preparation of this second book, containing Chapters III and IV of the story of the Welsh Highland Railway, was suggested by a number of members of the Welsh Highland Light Railway (1964) Ltd. It is intended as a follow-on to Charles E. Lee's volume entitled The Welsh Highland Railway.
It has only been possible to compile the many new facts and figures brought to light since the formation of the Welsh Highland Railway Society in July, 1961, by the help of many members; and it is the hope of the authors that many interested in narrow-gauge railways will find in this book the answers to most of the persistent questions raised in other books which refer to the Welsh Highland Railway.
