FROM THE BOOK
Markers
Section One of this disclosure describes how I found The Iron Horse in the fall of 44 as a kid at Climax Kansas.                                                                                                                  In that casual branchline environment I learned about railroads and railroaders from the clickety clack of the telegraph key to the intoxicating environs of the engines cab. Relocated to Eureka for my high school years my interest and horizons began to expand. In addition to my familiar Santa Fe friends The Missouri Pacific now paraded thru my days. In those years of adolescent exploration hopping freights became a way to get away and explore the Horses habits from its back. In the fullness of time I was a fireman and followed the rails in the fashion Id admired. Disillusioned as I saw steam disappear and coincident undeniable implications arose I diverted toward a different destination. But my Iron Horse memories haunted me unendingly and demanded that I do this thing Ive done. This second (final) section youre considering illustrates some more salient situations and mounts markers on my manifest of memories.
