After all, during the late 1940s, an era when color film had become readily available, there were still eight city and interurban systems carrying passengers in Iowa, as well as several other roads that relied on electric power to move freight. Surprisingly, five of the passenger systems operated into the 1950s, and the last one didn't exit the passenger business until 1958. It's not because a few cars were regularly photographed, but simply because only a few cars were available to photograph.
