From 1900 to 1940 the big cars of five interurban lines sped to the nearby towns of Olathe, East Zarah, Lawrence, Leavenworth, St. Joseph and Excelsior Springs to offer fast, convenient and affordable transportation in the days before automobiles and paved highways.
