This book, and other counterparts in this series, is a time capsule reflection of what is no longer available to the casual railfan and/or serious modeler. Nearly all of the GN freight cars in this book are gone or have been repainted BN's Cascade green (or grey) and lettered for the Burlington Northern. This is unfortunate because by all accounts the Great Northern Railway operated a very colorful freight car fleet in comparison to what is operating in today's railroad scene.
All pictures are of the actual item. There may be reflection from the lights in some photos. We try to take photos of any damage.
