It shows a cross section of some of the motive power that was used at the time specified, in the local areas. All of these were photographed between 1933 and 1937, by myself, in 120 and 116 size film, and enlarged by me in my photo lab to the 8 x 10 format. All of these engines were working at the time, with one or two exceptions, and doing a great job hauling freight and passengers. The Erie railroad was one of the roads that took pride in their equipment, and it shows in the way that the engines were kept shining and painted. Some of the enginemen did their own polishing and painting. A few of the engines had white tires and running boards to enhance their looks. All of these were photographed at North Bergen, Jersey City, and Secaucus, N. J., with one or two exceptions, as noted.
