Williams, a member of the Denver Posse of the Westerners. \"Doc\" Williams' wide interests encompass not only the health of his fellow man, but also the history of well-known and little-known conflagrations, their causes and results. Arriving in Colorado Springs in 1946 after having received his M.D. at Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Doc has practiced medicine in the \"Springs\" ever since. His membership in the Colorado Springs Fire Department was brought about by special ordinance of the City Council in 1948, and he has also been an honorary member of the Police Department of that City for the past 20 years.
