This book has been written primarily to answer the questions of many young people in our Township schools. "What was it like in the 'olden' days ? " "What did people do?" "What did they eat?" "How did they travel?" "What did our town look like?" These are but a few of the questions I have tried to answer by story and picture. It is my hope that young and old alike will enjoy reading these pages as I have enjoyed compiling them, and will come to an understanding and appreciation of those who have gone before us and started the building of the good life we enjoy today.
