THEY WERE RUGGED TRAINS - BIG - AND COLORFUL. IN MOST CASES THEY WERE BUT CRUDE REPRESENTATION OF THE PROTOTYPE. IN FEWER INSTANCES THEY WERE SURPRISINGLY ACCURATE SEMI -SCALE MODELS.
THEY WERE WONDERFULLY DEPENDABLE TRAINS - MANY TIMES SERVING SEVERAL GENERATIONS BRINGING CHRISTMAS JOY AGAIN AND AGAIN - THEN CAREFULLY PACKED AWAY FOR CHRISTMAS SEASONS TO COME---- AND GO - - .
HAPPILY, THOUSANDS OF THESE TRAINS HAVE BEEN SOUGHT OUT OF ATTICS, BASEMENTS, ANTIQUE SHOPS, AND OLD STORES,BY A FRATERNITY OF OLD TRAIN LOVERS WHO HAVE SEEN FIT TO PRESERVE AND CHERISH THESE TREASURES OF LONG AGO.
