INTRODUCTION
This volume will close out my contribution on the St. Johnsbury and Lake Champlain Railroad. Stations, industries, side tracks, scenic views and the like are a part of this volume. Also some choice train photos along with some excellent aerial photos of most of the points of interest. This was a very enjoyable book to put together and feel certain you will be pleased with the results. Hopefully I haven't made too many errors, which I expect I have.
The Springfield Terminal Railway portion was done over a year ago and should have been in Volume V. As you know, Volume V was filled to my usual 208 pages. This volume, VIII, was the first opportunity I had to include this small carrier and since it was a part of the B&M, as was the St.J.&L.C., this seemed to be the best place to include it. It, too, was an enjoyable railroad to put together for you and hopefully it shows in how the finished product turned out. The Springfield Terminal portion is dedicated to the late John Parker who had intentions of doing a book on this original electric line turned diesel in later years.
All pictures are of the actual item. There may be reflection from the lights in some photos. We try to take photos of any damage.
