At Christmas, an aunt knowing I was a railway enthusiast presented me with a book token. I tried to no avail to purchase a comprehensive map of the railway system. On checking with my local library, I found that the main source of information was contained in the very fine British Railways Pre-Grouping Atlas, by W.
