Packed with early and rare colour views of trams in the United Kingdom, this album also records in its images a past time when life seemed simpler but harder. The period had much to commend it including the trams of course but the early post-war views in particular were taken during times that were difficult for the majority of the people in a country recovering from six years of war. Colour film was scarce and often of rather poor quality. The authors have assembled an unrivalled collection of colour, much of which required extensive restoration, to record the systems that survived the war.
