1952-54 Ford: Securing the Future
The 1949-51 Ford helped save a company that had been hemorrhaging red ink. The mission of the completely new 1952-54 Fords was to consolidate and capitalize on that success. Tim Howley describes those new Fords, their major features, and how well they fared in the marketplace.

1935 Duesenberg Speedster-Roadster
By 1935, Duesenberg was nearing the end of its days. Its last chassis had already been built, on a 153.5-inch wheelbase. It was shipped to England where J. Gurney Nutting & Company mounted a dashing speedster-roadster body on it. After that, it went to India to serve a Maharajah.

1949: The Fantasy and the Fact
For most automakers, 1949 was the first year for all-new postwar designs. The public liked what it saw, and bought over five million of them. But there were signs that the future might not be so kind to the independents, though nobody seemed to notice at the time. Thomas D. Murray tells about both the cars and the times.

1948 Chevrolet Fleetline Station Wagon
Chevy trotted out only a mildly facelifted range of '48s. But it didn't matter, for the postwar sellers' market was still in full swing. The most expensive model in the lineup (and the heaviest) was the Fleetline station wagon. A true woody, it was also the most elegant.

1952-55 Willys: Much Better Than You Think
Willys didn't resume building cars after World War II, concentrating instead on Jeep-inspired vehicles. But chairman Ward M. Canaday wanted to get Willys back into the auto business. He did for 1952, with an all-new car known as the Aero-Willys. Richard M. Langworth narrates.
