The Cincinnati, Milford & Loveland Traction Company (later the Cincinnati, Milford & Blanchester Traction Company) was a favorite of mine because as a child I rode it with my family to visit my grandfather in Plainville, Ohio. We lived in
Norwood, took the Cincinnati Traction Company street car Route 5 (Norwood) to Peebles Corner, transferred to the Route 69 (Madisonville) to Milford Junction on Erie Avenue, and rode the CM&B to Plainville. Counting time to wait for cars, the trip could take almost one and a half hours each way.
In the summer I would go to Plainville to stay for one or two weeks where I could play in the creek behind the house. Once in a while Aunt Annie (my grandfather's sister-in-law and housekeeper after grandmother McNeil died) took me to Milford when I had to see a doctor or we rode there to buy meat and other items not carried by the small local Plainville grocers.
