Rev. 2-79
These safety rules have in part been revised and expanded as result of studies of personal injuries and employee fatalities throughout Chessie's System. Their primary purpose is to prevent recurrence of these unfortunate experiences.
It should be noted that a careful and thoughtful employee is one of the greatest assets that his or her family-and Chessie can have.
The qualifications that lead to continued employment are invariably measured by your ability to perform your duties intelligently and safely.
These safety rules govern all employees of the railroads of the Chessie System:
The Chesapeake and Ohio Railway Company
The Baltimore and Ohio Railroad Company
The Baltimore and Ohio Chicago Terminal Railroad Company
The Western Maryland Railway Company
The Staten Island Railroad Corporation
These rules become effective June 15, 1979, superseding all previous rules and instructions inconsistent therewith.
Additional rules or instructions may be issued by proper authority.
