Chesapeake and Ohio Historical Magazine 1986 June C&O HS Plymouth improvements
Chesapeake and Ohio June 1986
It's almost convention time. How will you arrive in Plymouth? Unfortunately it won't be in the cab of an E7 on the Pere Marquette streamliner. Our FRONT COVER shows what the C&O official photographer saw at Plymouth station on that train's inaugural run in August, 1946. Neg. No. 1571. And things continue to change. More of Dwight Jones' splendid photography reveals the new CSX paint scheme (BACK COVER) on locomotive 6344 at Huntington, West Virginia in May. See additional coverage on page 10.
Your editor confesses to occasional blurred vision. He only copied the information from the back of the photo which was on last month's back !I
cover. What was billed as a mail crane actually turned out to be a train order hoop. Someone suggested trying to hang a sack of mail from that!
