The story presented in this little book, prepared especially for the members of the Rocky Mountain Railroad Club, is one of twelve copyrighted articles comprising the 26th Annual Brand Book, published recently by the Denver Posse of the Westerners, the Nation's second oldest corral of that world-wide organization of western history buffs. Editor of the new Brand Book, and author of this detailed account of the numerous passenger trains which graced the rails of the Denver & Rio Grande during its first 100 years of existence, is Jackson C. Thode, a charter member of the Rocky Mountain Railroad Club and a veteran employee of the Denver & Rio Grande Western Railroad.
The kind permission of the Denver Westerners, and the cooperative endeavors of the Board of Directors of the Rocky Mountain Railroad Club; the Brand Book editor; Mr. Jerry Johnson, President of the Johnson Publishing Company in Boulder; and Mr. Richard Cox of Sacramento, California, publisher of superb quality railroad scenes in color, were all required to make this excellent selection from the Denver Westerners' Brand Book available for distribution in booklet form to the Club's membership.
The Rocky Mountain Railroad Club, now well into its 34th year of effort in promoting interest in responsible rail-fan and railroad historical activities, is proud that it can offer to its members this tribute to the centenary of Colorado's home railroad.
