THE YEAR 1927 WAS A MEMORABLE ONE IN THE HISTORY OF THE Central Vermont Railway Company in two respects. Up to the first of November, the railroad had experienced an extremely profitable year, and because of the excellent condition of its railbed and equipment, the Central Vermont was well prepared to handle its share of the greatly increased business which the country as a whole was enjoying. The prospects were very bright indeed for the railroad to earn a net income after all charges had been paid-for the first time in several years.
