This set of drawings was made during the transition period when the company was changing over from single truck cars to double cars. We are very fortunate in this regard as the single truck cars were rapidly being taken off the streets at this time. By, 1915 they were all out of service. Many of these cars were sold to street railways all over the country by the Chicago Surface Lines and the Dorner Car Company, a large railway equipment dealer located in Chicago. 323 single truck cars, including Chicago City Railway cars, were placed in storage for emergency use. These cars were never used and were scrapped in 1934.

There were some renumberings of these cars after the Chicago Surface Lines took over operation of the Chicago Railways in 1913. Cars 4475-4554 were renumbered in 1915. In 1916 all the service cars were given new numbers.

These drawings are 3/16" and 1/4" scale with slight variations due to shrinkage of the originals. They are in order as follows: double truck passenger, single truck passenger, double truck service, and single truck service cars.
