INTRODUCTION

In the "Canadian Trains" calendars for 1991 through 1995, some real classics have appeared. These images were merely a part of the everyday railway scene when the photographers took them, but over the years, they have become historically significant. Many are, of course, unrepeatable. This album gives those pictures a more permanent place in the railway enthusiast's library.

Canadian Trains takes the calendar illustrations a step further, combining some into double-page features where appropriate, and providing additional caption information where space permits. From more than 60 previously-published slides and prints, some dating from 1952, nearly 40 were selected for inclusion, together with new material from the author's collection.
