As a result of the first three volumes of this series, I have received a deluge of mail which contains many helpful suggestions and a great number of questions. Although every attempt is made to answer all mail, it is becoming more difficult to keep this up and at the same time send out orders and compile the next volume. Thus, I am utilizing this introduction to deal with some of the queries we receive. The most frequently asked questions are, "Why are the BRMNA publishing these books?", "Why don't you do something on Canadian National?", "Why don't you look at Canadian Pacific in Eastern Canada?", and "What will the next one be about?"
BRMNA entered the publishing field because three members, Martin Booth, Bill Cruickshanks and I, thought that there was a need for these books. No one else showed any intention of covering this area and I was in a unique position to prepare and publish the works.
