It is obvious that many of the right decisions were made because her efficiency and ability to serve the shipping and traveling public have improved substantially over the years. Indeed it could be said that the last five years from 1970 to 1975 have been among the most exciting of CN's history. The next half of this decade promises to be even more exciting as expanding traffic levels dictate new trackage and train service concepts. The Research and Development Department is playing a key role in these new developments.
