With its home base at Lewiston, the CPR is divided into four subdivisions. The 3rd follows the Snake River Canyon west to Riparia, Washington where it connects with the UP. The 2nd subdivision splits off at Spaulding, heading southeasterly to Grangeville. Here the line traverses beautiful Lapwai Canyon and the spectacular 1300-foot Lawyer's Creek viaduct. The 4th subdivision begins at Orofino and travels northeast to Headquarters, also the home of Potlatch Forests, Inc.
