The story of the California and Nevada Railroad is one of free enterprise and competitionof small business in a field of giants. It's a saga of high hopes, colorful characters, financial daringingenious and crude constructions and natural disasters.
From its beginning the C & N was beset with many difficulties, but in spite of these obstacles great men and women dealt with these obstacles and eventually overcame them.
Many of their stories are told. They are full of humor, concern and perseverance as to what kept the trains on the rails (more off than on) as long as they did.
