This is truly a landmark issue of the BURLINGTON BULLETIN, the largest issue we have yet published, and all devoted to a single locomotive class, albeit one of the most attractive groups of steam locomotives ever to grace the CB&Q roster - a roster not noted (at least among non-Burlington devotees) for classic-looking steam power. But the Q's class S-4 Hudsons were classic locomotives by anyone's standards, and the detailed coverage of their careers provided here is certainly warranted. This issue also sets a record for participation, with literally dozens of individuals, both BRHS members and non-members, furnishing useful information or photographs. Without their generous assistance, this publication would not have been possible.
