Branchline is published 11 times a year. On the Cover: BC Rail's 6-car "Cariboo Prospector" is northbound at Gates, BC, mile 118.0 on July 11, 2001. This three-train consist includes RDC-3 BC-30, RDC-1 BC-10, RDC-3s BC-31 and BC-33, and RDC-1s BC-21 and BC-15. The two lead cars will continue on from Lillooet (mile 157.6) to Prince George (mile 452.4) as the thrice-weekly part of the "Cariboo Prospector". The second two cars, the daily part of the "Cariboo Prospector", will stop at Lillooet and after 2% hours will return to North Vancouver. The two trailing cars will continue on from Lillooet to Pavilion (mile 177.9) as the summer-only "Explorer Scenic Train". The latter train will not operate in 2002, and it appears the "Cariboo Prospector" service will terminate in late-October 2002. Photo by Eric L. Johnson.
