This drain, along with loss of postal contracts to haul mail, and even Railway Express Agency taking to the road, became a severe fiscal burden on the B\u0026amp;O and much of the rest of the nation's railroads. It has been well documented, however, that the B\u0026amp;O tried valiantly to provide quality passenger service to the end.
