This book originally started out as one of my articles for The Railroad Press (TRP) Magazine. Jaime came to my house and liked the photos so much, he decided that a larger group of photos should be made in hook form. That's how this came about.
I would like to thank lifelong friends Dave Augsburger, Kenny Bealer and Bob Wilt who supplied some photos to help. I also would like to thank my brother Dan who supplied some of the photos, and was my companion on many of the trips. I also thank my brother Keith who first took slides with a Ricoh camera that he bought with money he earned working in an apple orchard when he was 14 years old. Next, my hat goes off to the late Kenny Von Steuben for having the foresight to record the railroad scene in the early years. I also have to give a big "Thank you" to Frank Krempa for identifying the conductor enjoying his ride in the LV caboose pictured at Fraser in 1970.
But mostly I will have to thank my wife Donna for helping to pick out some 80-85 pictures out of 500 shots that I thought "must be" in this book. She also helped me with the text and put up with me during the time it took to write this.
Being a Railroader and Railfan's wife is no easy task. Read issue No. 73 of TRP to see what 1 mean.
