We began Volume One with a look at one of the most straightforward open wagon kits on the market, ABS's white-metal LMS open.The l)&S Kit for the GER 10-ton outside-framed van is in some ways the covered equivalent, at least in terms of the principal material employed and the relatively small number of parts involved.
However, since styrene and etched brass parts are also used, it does demand a wider scope of common techniques from the modeller, and exploits a number of different types of adhesive. I used two-part epoxy for the main parts, but solder for assembling the axleguard units, Evo-stik for most of the plastic/metal joints, and solvent for strengthening and detailing the roof.
