Vor hundert Jahren, am 3. April 1860, wurde die Eisenbahnlinie Graz-Kdem Verkehr . Dies war fdie Weststeiermark der Beginn des wirtschaftlichen Aufstieges und der verkehrstechnischen Erschlie. Wir nehmen das 100jJubilzum Anla, um Rzu halten und jene Zeit in Erinnerung zu rufen, in der unsere Vorfahren dieses Unternehmen aufbauten. Diese kleine vorliegende Schrift soll eine Vorstellung davon vermitteln, wie schwierig die Aufgaben oft waren, die die Graz-KEisenbahn im Dienste der Allgemeinheit zu erfhatte. Sie soll aber auch an die Lebensarbeit, die Pflichterfund die Opferbereitschaft jener Merinnern, die dieses Werk schufen, und allen Betriebsangehund dem Nachwuchs Ansporn sein fkLeistungen und Taten. To introduce a hundred years ago, on April 3, 1860, the railway line Graz - Kwas handed over to public transport. This was the beginning of the economic ascent and the development of traffic technology for Western Styria. We take the 100janniversary as an opportunity to revisit and recall the time in which our ancestors built this company. This small present writing is intended to give an idea of how difficult the tasks that the Graz-Krailway had to fulfil in the service of the general public were often. But it should also remember the work of life, the fulfillment and sacrifice of those men who created this work, and encourage all employees and the young talent for future achievements and deeds. In this sense, the following lines may find friendly reception and in broad circles arouse and promote interest and understanding of the railways.
