North Western Lines C&NW is issued quarterly, Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall by the Chicago & North Western Historical Society. COVER: Proviso yards, looking west from the Mannheim Road overpass into the east end of yard 6 on the left yard 7 in the center, and yard 810 the right. The complex consisted of nine major yards. One of which was a hump yard. three repair yards. and an engine facility Traffic arriving al Proviso from the east. was routed into the three yards shown above for reclassification and eventual movement to the north and west.
