Norfolk and Western Magazine is published every six weeks at Roanoke Va. About the cover, Houston, Texas and the chemical industry have grown together at a pace that far outstrips the national economy. Metropolitan Houston alone produces more than 40 percent of the nation's basic petrochemicals. This month the cover of the NW Magazine focuses on the Houston Gulf Coast -the world's petroleum refining capital and center of the nation's greatest concentration of petrochemical and chemical industries.
The NW's operates an off-line Sales agency in Houston. This team of talented NW salesmen work in a region abundant in oil, gas, salt, sulfur, lime, timber, sea water and fresh water These men work in a dynamic industrial-growth area striving to gain profitable customers for the NW.
Concentrated along the 50-mile Houston Ship Channel are dozens of chemical and petrochemical industries. Our cover this month shows a night shot along the ship channel highlighting the Tenneco Chemical Co. - one of the NW's Sales team's customers.
