The cover, Ann Miller is the artist of this issue's cover. She did the pen and ink sketches from photographs made by 0. H. Crawford, and from her memories of living in West Virginia several years ago.
Some of our Scioto Division customers are represented here, as well as a cornfield near Waldo, Ohio, and N&W Bridge No. 1034 which spans the Ohio River at Kenova, W. Va. She has shown hopper cars on a siding at Plum Run Stone Division, Davon Corporation, near Peebles, Ohio, where there is a 500-year supply of gravel; vats containing polypropylene at Nova-mont Corporation, Neal, W. Va.; piles of logs on the grounds at Mead Corporation, Chillicothe, Ohio; grain being dumped into a hopper at Pickaway Grain Company, Circleville, Ohio; a coal silo at Gund Mine in Kentucky, and coal being reclaimed at Sandusky.
Miss Miller is a 19-year-old freelance artist and sophomore at Roanoke College. Mr. Crawford, manager photographic services, Public Relations and Advertising Dept., made the photographs for our article on the Scioto Division which begins on page 322.
