Norfolk and Western Magazine is published every month in Roanoke, Va. THE PICTURES ON THE FRONT COVER of this issue show improvements recently completed on a very important district of our railroad-the installation of traffic control on our Clinch Valley Line. The top picture shows westbound Time Freight Train No. 81 with empty coal cars on the head end, meeting the local freight train which operates between Bluefield and Rift. The picture was taken at Burks Garden, Va., just east of Tazewell.
