On the front cover, a standard type of military watch made by C.H.F. Tissot & Fils for the U.S. Signal Corps during WW I. The removable metal guard was designed to protect the crystal and sold in a variety of designs. A number of watches were also designed with permanent guards attached.
The next special exhibit at the NAWCC Museum will be on military timepieces and will cover the variety of types, designs, and specialized functions of timepieces used by the military. The exhibit opens November 12 and will run through April of 1992. Look for details in upcoming issues of the BULLETIN.
