Plans are the basic necessity of model railroading, more important than even the raw materials and parts. It was to furnish those plans in a useful, handy, compact volume that The Model Railroader Cyclopedia was originally published in 1936. With each edition the book has increased in size, scope, and completeness until it is the accepted reference work for railway modelers.
This sixth edition includes not only plans and photographs in more ample selection than ever before, but brief outlines of construction methods. The signal section has, in addition to plans for all types of signals, electrical diagrams for the most commonly used circuits.
Complete cross-indexing makes every plan, photo, and other bit of information readily accessible. The contents are listed not only by types of railroad equipment, but by railroad names as well, and the entire book is arranged so that the various parts follow each other in logical sequence.
All pictures are of the actual item. There may be reflection from the lights in some photos. We try to take photos of any damage. If this is a railroad item, this material is obsolete and no longer in use by the railroad. Please email with questions. Publishers of Train Shed Cyclopedias and Stephans Railroad Directories.
