For many years Journal Square was the place to go to for a movie, a meal, a suit, a bus, a train, a hot dog. . .and the list goes on. There was a certain something you felt when you entered its confines. The bright bulbs of the theater marquees, the endless traffic cruising around the bend, the scent of the many chefs creations filling the air mixed with bus fumes, the overflow of people making their way across the massively wide expanse of the Hudson Boulevard Bridge to and from the tubes. There was no place like it if you lived in Northern Jersey. When you mention the Square to someone who lived in Jersey City or in the surrounding area, the result is always the same -- a big smile and a happy memory to share.
