INTRODUCTION
This book represents the present operating diesel-electric locomotives of the Canadian National, and Canadian Pacific Railways, and Via Rail Canada with undelivered new locomotives on order. Together the combined fleets of locomotives approximate in size those of Conrail, in the U.S.A., World's largest locomotive fleet operator.
The illustrations used in this book are second to none. They represent the very best quality, since most are choice selected builders photographs, showing the locomotives as they were originally delivered, with original paint schemes. The Canadian National roster fleet is shown first, in numerical order ascending, followed by photographs in numerical sequence. Immediately following this, is CN's U.S.A. railway subsidiaries. Canadian Pacific locomotive roster and photographs are similarly organized, of course followed by VIA Rail, similarly laid out as the above.
