In 1900, Joshua Lionel Cowen installed a battery in a crude sheet metal body, mounted it on wheels and ran it on a small circle of track. Since then, operating and collecting Lionel Electric Trains has been a rewarding, fun-filled experience for hundreds of thousands of people of all ages.
