Although Gilbert HO train items were produced from 1938 through 1963, the production covered three separate periods. Those items carrying catalog numbers in the 200's were produced in the 1938-39 period, and were completely diecast metal. All of the 200's had chassis mounted couplers, and no 200 numbers appeared on any of the cars.
From 1940 to 1942 the first of the items carrying catalog numbers in the 100's appeared on the market. These prewar (1940-42) items were also completely diecast metal.
All pictures are of the actual item. There may be reflection from the lights in some photos. We try to take photos of any damage.
