This book is intended to supplement Steam Locomotives of the Frisco Line, published in 1976, and emphasizes the last years of Frisco steam operations in the post-World War II era. Through the courtesy of Alan Schmitt of the Frisco Railroad Museum in Springfield, Mo., additional data has been found on the operation of Frisco steam power during this time period. I have attempted to use photographs not used in my previous book, although I have been unable to find many action photographs in this era that had not been previously published. Frisco Power, by Joe G. Collias, is a good reference for those interested in Frisco steam locomotives and has many excellent action views. I hope that what is presented here will be of interest to fans of the Frisco. Although it has been part of the Burlington Northern Railroad system since 1980, the slogan of the Frisco Railroad Museum surely applies: "Gone but not forgotten."
