Front Cover... In August 1945 North Shore Line streetcar 354 is southbound on County Street at Washington Street in downtown Waukegan. The track in the foreground is a remnant of the Washington Street line then used for occasional interurban car movement between the County Street terminal and the Milwaukee Division near the Edison Court station. Car 354 is preserved at the Illinois Railway Museum.
