The Hawkeye Truck Company of Sioux City, Iowa started business m 1916 manufacturing the "Hawkeye Motor Truck" Models ranged in size from 1 ton to 3 1/2 tons. 4 cylinder Buda engines were standard until 1926 when a 6 cylinder option became available. In the 1930's. 6 cylinder Hercules and 4 cylinder Wisconsin engines were also added.
With the exception of the hood the earlier models were made of wood. The running gear was purchased, but the frame and other component parts were built in the Sioux City manufacturing facility.
The Hawkeye Truck Company fell on hard times in the early 1930's and by 1933 had become a casualty of the The Great Depression.
The Ertl Company, Inc., as an Iowa based manufacturer. is proud to produce this replica of one of the great trucks in America's history.
These have been in storage for years. Selling as used, but many look to be new. A few were still sealed.
