INDEX TO VOLUMES I AND II 164
This two-volume Handbook is intended as a reference manual of the electrical information required by model railroaders. Volume I contains basic information needed on all layouts, Volume II, although including some basic information, primarily covers the more advanced aspects of the hobby such as signaling. The emphasis is heavily on those methods which have been proven effective, particularly on those which have been widely used.
Extensive use is made of cross-referencing including references in this volume to information in Volume I either by section or by figure and chapter. These references to Volume I will remain valid for any future edition of Volume I.
In the interest of preserving some of the history of the hobby and to give credit where credit is due, the earliest known publication or demonstration of an important advance of an electrical nature in model railroading has been included in many cases. If any reader knows of an earlier reference than those cited, the author would appreciate being so informed.
Wiring, control panels, switch machines and special controls, relays and their circuits, track circuits, signaling and interlocking, transistor throttles, frequency control of locomotives, advanced cab control, lighting and sound effects, electrified railroads, telephones, trouble shooting, raio and television interference, index to Vol 1 and 2.
