From the files of Electric Railway Journal there have been selected the most valuable ideas on maintenance submitted by men in roads throughout the U.S. and Canada. Every effort has been made to choose only those ideas that are practical, the ideas which have been proved workable by the acid test of actual use. Every kink published in these pages represents a method successfully employed in some department of an electric railway-track and way, electrical and line, way and structures, bus and garage.
By bringing these ideas together in a single volume, we have made the best maintenance practice available to every property. And by utilizing the suggestions which can readily be adapted to his road, the maintenance man will contribute greatly to reducing over- head costs. In that way he will greatly increase his personal value to the road.
