INTRODUCTION
The Edwards Railway Motor Car Company is an organization of railroad men who have devoted their lives to the mechanical and operating departments of railroads, and in the operation of their own railroad properties found that the motor bus and truck competition, together with high operating cost of steam locomotives were threatening the very existence of branch line and surburban railways. In an effort to solve this problem with which they were confronted, the Edwards Rail Car was developed as a means of meeting and overcoming these difficulties.
The equipment here offered and described in the following pages is our latest and most improved product in Gasoline Rail Cars. It is the result of ten years experience in rail car building and operation, and we have incorporated into this model all the refinements and improvements which ten years experience has proven to us to be the best for this kind of equipment.
