The Edwards Railway Motor Car Company is an organization of railroad men who have devoted their lives to the mechanical and operating departments of railroads and to the operation of their own railroad properties.
After a careful survey and analysis of the transportation problem they found that the motor bus and truck competition, together with high operating cost of steam locomotives, were threatening the very existence of branch lines and suburban railroads. In an effort to solve this problem with which they were confronted, the Edwards rail car was developed as a means of meeting and overcoming these difficulties.
