The GP40-2L was a Canadian-only locomotive model built by General Motors Diesel Division at its London, Ontario, facility. Its Comfort Cab and lack of dynamic brakes gave this GP40-2 variant a distinctive look.

In July 1958, Jack Hahn traveled to western Virginia to photograph a relatively new convert to the diesel, the Interstate Railroad. Operating a fleet of 10 brightly painted Alco-built RS-3s, the carrier at that point had only two more years of independent existence.
All pictures are of the actual item. There may be reflection from the lights in some photos. We try to take photos of any damage.
